We developed a renovation concept for the Women’s and Head Clinic in Innsbruck as part of the Master’s course Building Renovation at the University of Innsbruck. The design aims to enable a sustainable, energy-efficient upgrade of the building during ongoing medical operations, based on the concept Revitalizing Healthcare.

Our project won 1st place in the Education for Future Award — Impact Days, organized by RENOWAVE. AT, Austria’s innovation platform for climate-neutral renovation. The proposal impressed the jury with its holistic and forward-thinking approach: improving the building envelope to meet EnerPHit standards, integrating facade photovoltaics, adding green emergency staircases, and reusing existing facade panels in line with circular economy principles.

Beyond the award, the project also sparked valuable dialogue with Tirol Kliniken, who are planning a real-life facade renovation of the building — showing how academic design can inspire real-world transformation
